As time passes, our feelings grow deeper. A wedding anniversary celebration is a banquet to celebrate 60 years of marriage and wish the couple a long and happy life together. Make the celebration even more exciting with traditional Korean music and singing, and celebrate the couple’s long love!

“Enduring Love” refers to Ian McEwan’s 1997 novel and its 2004 film adaptation, which are set in England and explore themes of love, obsession, and the aftermath of a hot air balloon accident. The term is also used in K-dramas like Lovely Runner, where a fan’s deep devotion for a K-pop idol is depicted, and in real-world Korean traditions, such as the love locks at Namsan Tower, symbolizing lasting love.

In Literature and Film

  • Ian McEwan’s Novel: The 1997 book Enduring Love begins with a dramatic hot air balloon accident, which leads to a fateful, obsessive connection between two strangers, Joe and Jed. The novel examines different forms of love and connection through a unreliable narrator.
  • The Film Adaptation: Released in 2004, the film is considered by some to be a philosophical exploration of choice and reaction in the face of tragedy.

In South Korean Culture

  • Lovely Runner: This 2024 K-drama is about Im Sol, a devoted fan of the deceased idol Sun-jae, who gets the chance to travel back in time to save him. The drama’s portrayal of Sun-jae’s unwavering love for Sol is a central theme.
  • Namsan Tower Love Locks: The tradition of couples attaching padlocks to the fences at Namsan Tower symbolizes their “enduring love” and commitment.
