Bugaksan Mountain (or Baegaksan) is a granite mountain in northern Seoul, South Korea, known for its panoramic views of the city, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and the Blue House. It features hiking trails along the historic Seoul Fortress Wall and is a significant landmark, once a restricted area due to military security, now partially open to the public. Visitors can enjoy scenic walks, photography (with restrictions), and access to viewpoints like the Bugak Palgakjeong Pavilion.

• Height & Terrain: The mountain reaches approximately 342 meters (1,122 feet) and is characterized by granite bedrock, steep inclines, and rocky terrain. 
• Historical Significance: Bugaksan served as a natural defensive feature for Seoul and was once restricted to the public following a 1968 North Korean infiltration attempt. 
  

• Access: Hiking trails start at various points, such as Changuimun Gate, and can be accessed via public transportation or private car to areas like the Bugak Skyway. 
• Trails: Various routes are available, from the steep, stair-filled paths to the more gradual Bugaksan Dulle-gil trail. 
• What to Expect: Be prepared for steep climbs, particularly on the stairs, and consider wearing hiking boots for better support. 
• Restrictions: Photography is restricted in certain areas due to military presence and security, so be mindful of marked zones. 
• Best Times to Visit: Spring and autumn offer pleasant weather for hiking.
