Underground Railway
Seoul has an extensive underground rail system. All rail lines are colour coded and stations display signs in multiple languages.
The T-money card is an electronic Smart card which can be used on buses, the underground railway, taxis and some convenience stores. The card is charged with an amount of funds and fare is deducted as the card is used. Discounts are offered for use of the T-Money card on some trips.

South Korea’s underground railway system is a vast network, primarily serving the Seoul Metropolitan Area, though it includes high-speed rail and commuter lines that extend to rural areas and other major cities. This extensively used system provides efficient, affordable transportation for millions daily, with high frequency, color-coded lines, and English signage making it user-friendly. The infrastructure is continually evolving, with current projects like the Super Rapid Train (SRT) and plans to move more surface lines underground to improve urban living and connectivity, according to the Railway Supply.
